Red River Valley S.W.A.T.
F-M Ambulance Service has four paramedics dedicated to the Red River Valley S.W.A.T. team. These tactical EMS (TEMS) paramedics train with the police officers and provide on site medical treatment for SWAT call out incidents. TEMS Paramedics receive special training in ballistic trauma, K-9, clandestine drug labs, high level rescue, aero medical evacuations, defensive tactics, Tazer weapon, and working in the rural setting.
On-Scene Firefighter Rehab
F-M Ambulance Service provides the cities of Fargo, Moorhead, and West Fargo rehab on scene for working fires. Our paramedics will assess the fire fighters after they have been working in and around a fire. If necessary the paramedics provide medical treatment to the fire fighters and bystanders.
Tours
F-M Ambulance Service recognizes the benefits of showing the general public what emergency services is about. One way to promote EMS is to provide tours at no cost to the public when ever we are able to. If you are interested in setting up a tour with one of our ALS ambulance units contact Kristi at (701) 364-1759.
Non-Dedicated Standbys
For some events F-M Ambulance Service provides non-dedicated ambulance coverage for the event. When units are available they provide EMS coverage, if call demand is increased the unit is pulled and dispatched to calls for service. If you are interested in a non-dedicated stand-by, please call Kristi at (701) 364-1759.
Community Picnics
The cities in the metro area have various community celebrations. F-M Ambulance Service participates in these at no cost to the communities. We usually provide and ambulance for tours and answer questions from the public. If you would like us to stop by your block party or community picnic, please call Kristi at (701) 364-1759.
Explorer Post
We participate with the Boy Scouts of American by having an EMS Explorer's Post. The Post is a chance for high school age boys and girls to see EMS is all about. The Explorers are taught basic first aid, CPR, and other skills. They are able to ride-along on the ambulance to see the "real world". They have monthly meeting during the school year and have a variety of presentations. If you are interest in this program, you can contact Kristi at (701) 364-1759.
